Kapiti Island 'Moment in Time' poem

Walking to the summit
Catching my breath
Legs feel like jelly
Before reaching the top

I saw the light
Screamed out
"Hallelujah Baby"
Like I'd won Big Wednesday

Felt so proud
So amazed
I'm in a happy place

Kapiti Island - what a fantastic experience

Room 18 had a perfect day for Kapiti. The views from the lookout were amazing - we could see the South Island, Mt Taranaki and Ruepehu on one side and on the other side every detail of the Kapiti Coast stretching out before us. We had regular encounters with cheeky Kakas and Wekas - records of these encounters will be posted this week in the form of our 'Moment in Time' poems.  Watch this space for some photos! Thanks very much to all the parents that came - it was a great day.

Kapiti Island

We're off to Kapiti Island on Monday. We've got lots of parent help and just need a fine day! At the moment we're doing group studies on endangered birds in preparation so that we will recognise those that we see and hear.

Wild Things!!!

This class has brilliant singers in it. Madeline's left us over the holidays for Auckland but kids like Georgia C, Anita and  Sam R are real stars and more than make up for it. We often start the day with a few songs and it makes for a great class atmosphere as well as lots of merit points!  We all join in on favourites like Hey There Delilah, Wonderwall, Fix You, Where do the Children Play, Ticket to Ride and Joy to the World. When we 'sing' Wild Thing it's chaos completely crazy but lots of fun. This term we're learning new songs by Paramore and Train and they're sounding fantastic...
